EMyth Revisited This book should give us the answer Why most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do about it. First of all I must say this book is more directed to people who have no clue about Business Administration, Companies or Organizational Structure, e.g. for people who have worked their entire live for someone else as a cook, programmer, farmer, teacher or whatever. For those people with an academic background in business this book is not telling us anything new. Some sentences may be worthwhile qouting. In everyone of us is an Entrepreneur, a Manager and a Technican. It is just unequally distributed. Some may be more the Entrepreneur or some more the Manager kind of a guy. As a business owner you need to be a Entrepreneur and a Manager as you need to tell the people how everything can be done. As you are the only one who knows how your business is running. M. Gerber also gives us the advise that we always should look at our business as a franchise even though we might be not interested in franchising it. The purpose is do get the processes in place, to get the different job duties documented and to create an organizational structure and hierarchy within the company. tj
